Make a cash donation: We encourage individuals and organizations to become Waterville Main Street Partners, a list of which you can find by clicking here. In the fall, we send out a letter with several donation levels. All levels are welcome and acknowledged all year long!
Sponsor an event: Annual events include Harvest Fest, Kringleville, Parade of Lights, Maine Open Juried Art Show, and our Kringleville Annual Dinner and Auction. Based on your level of support, your business name and logo appears with all publicity. Click here for full sponsorship opportunities.
Donate time, goods, and services: If you have a special skill that you are willing to share, a product that you make or sell, or a gift certificate or promotional item for a raffle prize, Waterville Main Street can put these to good use to grow enthusiasm and pride to our residents and friends.
When you support Waterville Main Street, you help local volunteers make fun things happen, give local kids a chance to make a difference in their community, support the local small business economy, preserve our local cultural and architectural heritage, and help make our city more beautiful. So local! Who knew?
Volunteers make it happen!
Waterville Main Street survives through the committed work of over 100 volunteers of all ages! Join in projects like placemaking, community holiday events, shopping local, student engagement, walkability, and more. Many different teams get together all month long, and we always welcome new friends to the table. Feel free to send a private message through Facebook, email us, or stop by next time you’re downtown.
Examples of ways to get involved:
For a day: spend an hour or two at one of our many events, manning the registration desk, creating a float for the parade, decorating a display window, helping kids with Santa visits, checking in artwork for the show.
For a project: meet like-minded, caring teams of people who plan, schedule, and otherwise coordinate what goes on behind the scenes to make Waterville such a great place, for instance: Seasonal decorations, window displays, walkability and streetscape projects, community and worksite wellness, arts and culture events, small business and economic impact groups.
For a year: make career and community connections to last a lifetime through deeper involvement behind the scenes in one of our four concentration areas: Promotional events and materials, Design and aesthetic planning, Economic strategy and workforce improvements, and Outreach, volunteer development and recruiting. Close to a dozen work groups meet monthly to shape our direction, and we love to see new faces!
For your club or organization: Waterville Main Street currently has partnerships with the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce, Waterville Creates!, Sunrise and noontime Rotary Clubs, Healthy Northern Kennebec Community Wellness Coalition, Kennebec Messalonskee Trails, Active Community Environment Team, Committee, Colby and Thomas College, Mid-Maine Technical Center, Youth Empowerment through Employment (YETE), and the Waterville Garden Club, to name a few! We offer speaking opportunities to address your group and offer meaningful ways to work together.
